I should have written this yesterday, but it was difficult to keep a straight face and I needed that to edit the current chapter of my never-ending work in progress – The Novel. I’ll tell you about it soon, I promise.
Anyway, assignment 6 was to name my blog. Uh, already done. Yeah, maybe it’s a boring name but it’s mine and I created the site to let my family know what I’m doing. Think of it as a 365-day-a-year Christmas newsletter. Granted the assignment did suggest I already had a name but it went on to tell me I should think about it. After all, there could be better names out there.
Yeah, could be – but if there are better names, they’re probably already taken. So, assignment done. Site named. Name considered. Kept.
Assignment 7 was creating my About page. That’s the page that describes me. The instructions suggest I not create a laundry list of things: favorite color (black), favorite movie (none of your business since I use it to prove I’m me), pets (none), books I’ve read (A Fatal Lie by Charles Todd), and so on. You get the picture. The lesson says laundry lists are boring and unless you’re doing research on a moment in history, those account ledgers full of business transactions don’t really help define a person much.
My About page is also done. It’s not a laundry list and I’ve changed it over time. No one has ever read it – or hasn’t left a comment if they have – so I don’t know how boring it is. But, it’s in place.
Both assignments are checked off and I moved on to the next one. This will take some time. It’s about fluffing up the look-and-feel of the site. WordPress makes this an easy task but it takes time. Since it’s a Sunday – peace be with you – I have a chapter of The Novel to edit so I’ll leave you for now. See you soon.
